Whilst LAVA Music are a relative newcomer to the guitar-building scene, they’ve quickly established a fierce reputation. The trailblazing company formed in 2013 with the goal of designing innovative instruments imbued with advanced technology. LAVA Music’s first milestone came about in 2017 with the launch of the groundbreaking LAVA ME, the first unibody carbon fibre guitar in the industry. The next came in 2021 with the introduction of the LAVA ME 3 - the world’s first smart guitar. A highlight of the LAVA ME 3 is its onboard HILAVA system, which is controlled using a seamlessly integrated multi-touch display.

With such a streak already under their belt, we’re very excited to see what comes next from the Chinese company. When we first picked up a LAVA Music guitar, we were floored by the detailed, articulate tone and inviting playability. Getting around the neck was a breeze as soon as we took it out the box. The LAVA ME 3 needs to be played to be believed. At its core, you have a superb electro-acoustic guitar that feels and sounds great. Combine that with the effects, which weave themselves into the guitar’s natural tone, and you have a playing experience that’s as immediate and inspiring as playing a traditional acoustic guitar yet so much more.
